What are MGM Studios? MGM Studios Are a Great Destination For Your Family!

MGM Studios are a top destination for families looking for great fun! As a part of the Walt Disney World theme park, MGM Studios are a place where families can go to experience a great time with a show business theme. Want more information on MGM Studios? Here you go!

MGM Studios are a theme park that opened in 1989 as part of Walt Disney World. It is consistently one of the top most-visited theme parks in the entire world, and with all it has to offer, it's easy to see why.

In keeping with the show business theme, MGM Studios are home to six themed areas, although the areas blend together to provide a common feel to the park. The six-themed areas of MGM Studios are Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Streets of America, Mickey Avenue, Animation Courtyard, and Sunset Boulevard. MGM Studios are also home to many different shows and attractions, as well as annual events.

Hollywood Boulevard is in the park's main entrance, where you can find live entertainment as well as shops and vendors. Hollywood Boulevard is also home to The Great Movie Ride and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame, where busts of many famous television figures, such as Walt Disney himself, can be found.

MGM Studios are also home to Echo Lake, a body of water that is surrounded by great attractions. Attractions include Star Tours (a Star Wars themed motion simulator), the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, and the live-action stage show Jedi Training Academy, which is always a big hit to the kids. As you can see, MGM Studios are the place to be if you love Star Wars!

The Streets of America area includes a number of fun things to do, including romping around in the Honey! I Shrunk the Kids oversized playset. You can also find Jim Henson's Muppet Vision 3-D, which provides an awesome 3-D Muppets experience.

Mickey Avenue proves that MGM Studios are a great place to learn something new as well, as they feature Walt Disney: One Man's Dream, which is a museum atmosphere to learn more about the beginnings of the Disney empire and Walt Disney himself.

The Animation Courtyard features Voyage of the Little Mermaid, which is a completely distinctive take on the Little Mermaid that, among other things, combines puppets and lasers. You can't pass up a show that combines puppets and lasers, folks!

Finally, there's Sunset Boulevard, which was the first expansion to MGM Studios, opening in 1994. MGM Studios are once again a great place for live entertainment, as at Sunset Boulevard you can enjoy Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage! Other attractions include the Rock 'n Roller Coaster (featuring Aerosmith) and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, which is guaranteed to give a family-friendly fright.

MGM Studios are clearly a wonderful destination for all families. Kids will enjoy the Disney characters and parents will enjoy the great stage shows and memorabilia that abound the park. No matter what kind of fun you're looking for, MGM Studios are sure to provide it!
